Roof inspection requests, and the three words that mean insurance
Three of the seven words this job is matched on are insurance words. What that says about the caller, and why this is the appointment worth automating.

The short answer
An inspection or estimate request is matched on seven words, three of which are insurance words: insurance, claim and adjuster. That tells you what many of these callers are actually doing, which is progressing a claim that needs a date rather than shopping around. It is normal urgency, so it is the safest appointment in this trade to let an assistant book, and it is the visit that turns into replacement work.
The words that name this job
The real list, read from the configuration that matches on it. Three of these describe an insurance process rather than a roof.
- Urgency by default
- normal
- Reply target
- 60 minutes
- Somebody goes out
- Yes
What this call is actually like
- Three of the seven words are insurance words: insurance, claim and adjuster. An inspection request in this trade is frequently a claim already in progress, and the caller's vocabulary says so before anybody asks.
- That changes what the appointment is for. A homeowner with an adjuster involved needs a date that fits somebody else's schedule, which is an argument for offering real times on the call rather than promising to ring back.
- Inspection and inspect are both listed, as are estimate and quote. The pack matches literally rather than cleverly, so the two halves of the same request each need their own entry.
- This is normal urgency, which makes it the safest appointment in the trade to let software book. Nobody is waiting on it, nothing is at risk if it lands on a Thursday rather than a Tuesday, and it is the visit that turns into the replacement.
What happens, in order
- Somebody rings for an estimate. The crew is on a roof and nobody picks up.
- If the assistant is on it answers, says it is an assistant, and asks what they need and where the property is.
- Where inspections are marked bookable, it checks appointments already made and the busy times on a connected calendar, offers what is genuinely free, and books it.
- The booking lands on the lead and in the calendar feed the business subscribes to.
- A reminder goes out before the visit asking for the driveway and gates to be clear.

missed call textback
This is Cedarline Roofing, sorry we missed your call. What is going on, and where are you? Reply here, or BOOK to book.
BOOK is in the first message because an estimate caller wants a date, and the company that gives them one first is usually the one that gets on the roof.
appointment reminder
Cedarline Roofing is booked for Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Please leave the driveway and gates clear. Reply if anything changed.
Access is the thing that decides whether a roofing visit can happen at all, and a blocked driveway is the most common way a morning is lost.
Questions
- Why are insurance words in a roofing keyword list?
- Because that is how the callers describe themselves. Somebody with an adjuster involved says so, and knowing that before the visit changes who should ring them back and how quickly.
- Should the assistant book inspections without asking me?
- That is the usual first job to allow. It is normal urgency, nobody is waiting on it, and the slot is held for the length you said an inspection takes rather than a default hour.
- What if the caller wants a price on the phone?
- It does not give one. It takes what they need and books the look, or leaves the details for somebody to ring back. A number quoted without seeing the roof is a number somebody has to withdraw later.
- Does the reminder reduce wasted visits?
- That is what it is for. It asks for the driveway and gates to be clear and invites a reply if anything changed, which is how a cancellation arrives before the van does rather than after.

No quote and no sales call to find out what it costs. Creating the account and setting it up charges nothing: setup is billed when you submit your carrier registration, and the monthly charge starts when your number is live.
